There were 320 9th grade students in Plaquemines Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 320 ninth grade students enrolled in Plaquemines Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 8.6% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Belle Chasse High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Plaquemines Parish schools, the most students were found in seventh grade classes, while 11th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Plaquemines Parish ranked 29th lowest in enrollment numbers, the same as the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
