JEFFERSON, LA – The Alario Center COVID-19 testing and vaccine site, operated by the Louisiana National Guard and Quest Diagnostics, will close on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 4 p.m.
The Alario Center has been operating as a testing site since March 21, 2020, shortly after a Jefferson Parish resident tested positive for the first case of COVID-19 in Louisiana on March 9, 2020. More than 39,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted and more than 5,000 vaccines have been issued at the Alario Center.
Those in need of a test or vaccine after Friday can visit one of Jefferson Parish’s public health units or call their local pharmacy or doctor. The Metairie Public Heath Unit is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Marrero Public Heath Unit is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An updated list of community sites providing vaccinations and boosters can be found at COVID.JeffParish.net.
