Greater New Orleans Federal Credit Union Kicks Off Youth Month with First Annual Easter Egg Hunt

15

METAIRIE, La. – Greater New Orleans Federal Credit Union,  GNO FCU, kicked off youth month by hosting its first annual Easter Egg  Hunt on April 9, 2022. The event took place at GNO FCU’s Harvey branch  and welcomed families in the community. Children enjoyed searching for  golden eggs, crafts. Face painting and balloon art was provided by Art  on the Geaux. RoqarouxQ Charities provided hot dogs and chili. Cotton  candy was spun on site by Gourmet Fairy Floss. “Sammy the Saver” made an  appearance, as GNO FCU promoted National Credit Union Youth Month, with  its youth savings account program “Sammy’s Savings Club”.  GNO FCU is  giving away a bike this month to one lucky new youth account holder. The  winner will be selected Saturday, April 30, 2022, so start your  children’s new youth account today. Prizes will be given through out the  year to celebrate the GNO FCU youth initiative. Youth savings accounts encourage children to practice good financial  habits that will enable them to fulfill their big dreams. Dreaming big  does not mean you need to start with big actions. The first small step  is usually the hardest, but once it’s taken, you can use momentum to  propel you forward. This year’s theme for National Credit Union Youth  Month is “Save Small. Dream Big at your GNO Federal Credit Union.” It  uses the image of a magical rainbow with a wish-fulfilling gold star at  the end. We want to tell young members that their dreams are attainable,  no matter how big they are.

If you have been wondering how to empower your kids to save for their  future, National Credit Union Youth Month and your GNO FCU are wonderful  places to start! The month of April, credit unions across the country  encourage youth to start saving regularly. This celebration is an  exciting time to engage kids at GNO FCU and within your community to  help them learn that saving, no matter how small the amount, can help  them achieve their dreams.
