The City of Kenner is offering an Amnesty Program from September 5 to September 29, 2023.

The City of Kenner Mayor’s Court will be offering an Amnesty Program during the month of September. The amnesty program provides an opportunity for those with certain municipal court charges to clear their cases without concern of being physically arrested. If an outstanding ticket is paid through the program, late fees and certain fines will be waived, and attachments for your arrest will be canceled.

Cases eligible for Amnesty consideration are for defendants who have failed to appear on their assigned court date and for those who owe fines and fees on traffic and misdemeanor citations.

The program is only available from September 5, 2023 to September 29, 2023. Participants may pay in full at Mayor’s Court located at 415 Williams Blvd. during normal business hours, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For those wishing to go to court or speak with the city prosecutor, they can be seen Monday – Thursday from 12:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:45 – 10:00 a.m. For code enforcement cases, participants can be seen on Fridays from 12:45 – 2:30 p.m.

Only tickets received before July 1, 2023, are eligible for this program, and DMV fees will not be waived. The city encourages those considering participating in the program to call the Clerk of Court office at 504- 468-7277 to verify eligibility. For any information concerning the Amnesty Program Procedures, call the Clerk of Court Office at 504-468-7277.
