Presentation At East Bank Regional Library To Focus On Recent Tricentennial Trip To Europe

JEFFERSON, LA – Jay Schexnaydre, a long-time member of the Genealogical Research Society of New Orleans, will present highlights of the recent German Coast Tricentennial Tour to Europe at 7 p.m., Monday, March 20, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., Metairie.

This event is free and open to the public. There is no registration.

A dozen members of the German-Acadian Coast Historical and GRSNO participated in a pilgrimage as part of the German Coast Tricentennial Tour. The mission of the May 2022 trip was to visit the ancestral homeland of the progenitor ancestors of the 1721 settlers of the Louisiana German Coast (today's St. Charles and St. John the Baptist parishes).

The group visited Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg. Schexnaydre’s presentation will show photographs highlighting the villages visited, and he will remark on the genealogical connections of the various founding colonial families.
