Free Parenting Classes Offered At Two Jplibraries

METAIRIE, LA – The Parenting Center at  Children’s Hospital New Orleans will provide two separate series of  parenting classes – one on the East Bank and one on the West Bank – this  autumn.

This class helps parents and grandparents with the ordinary  challenges of raising children. The staff of patient educators come from  a variety of backgrounds to help families grow from birth through  adolescence.

Each class in each series is free of charge an open to the public. There is no registration.

The classes on the West Bank will occur at the Jane Chatelain  O’Brien Library, 2751 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey, at the following times  and dates.

  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22 – Changing Behaviors – three to five years old.
  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 – Food Right (Picky Eaters)
  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10 – Changing Behaviors – six to eight years old.
The classes on the East Bank will occur at the North Kenner Library, 630 W. Esplanade, Kenner, at the following times and dates.

  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 – Changing Behaviors – three to five years old.
  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 – Food Right (Picky Eaters)
  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3 – Changing Behaviors – six to eight years old.

The Jefferson Parish Library system consists of 16 locations that  stretch from the Lakeshore Branch on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain to  the Grand Isle Branch just steps away from the Gulf of Mexico. The  library system consists of two large regional libraries and seven  branches on each side of the Mississippi River. The East Bank Regional  Library (4747 W.
