Jefferson Chamber to Host Mayoral Luncheon July 21

METAIRIE – The Jefferson Chamber of Commerce will host the Jefferson Mayoral Luncheon,  presented by USI Insurance Services, at noon on Thursday, July 21 at  Metairie Country Club. This event serves as a unique networking  opportunity for business locals to hear from Mayors and leaders in each  municipality on the progress being made in their respective areas.

The  2022 Mayoral Luncheon panel discussion will feature Mayor Tim Baudier  (Harahan), Mayor Rob Billiot (Westwego), Mayor David Camardelle (Grand  Isle), Mayor Belinda Constant (Gretna), Mayor Timothy Kerner Jr. (Jean  Lafitte) and Chief of Police Keith Conley (Kenner). The panel will be  asked a series of questions ranging from progress being made in their  areas to improvements to come. More than 200 business professionals will  be in attendance.

Jerry Bologna, President & CEO of the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO), will moderate the panel.

Registration  and networking will commence at 11:30 am, followed by the luncheon and  panel at noon. Individual member tickets can be purchased for $75 and  prospective member tickets are $125.

Baudier previously served on  the Harahan City Council for ten years and has been a successful  business owner for 32 years. He has also served as a member of the  Harahan Police Department Advisory Committee and the Harahan Fire  Department Advisory Committee.

Billiot is a life-long resident of  the City of Westwego and is now serving his sixth term. His first five  terms spanned from 1989-2008 until he was elected to the Louisiana House  of Representatives where he served three terms in the house until 2020.

Camardelle  was elected in November 1996 and has been president of the Grand Isle  Independent Levee Board since 1992. He is also part of the Louisiana  Community Development Authority (LCDA) where he has been an Executive  Board Member since 2013. Camardelle also holds membership with the  American Bankers Association, Louisiana Recreation & Parks  Association, Louisiana Realtors Association and the Louisiana Shrimp  Association.

Constant became Mayor of Gretna in July 2013 after  enjoying a career in the Louisiana court system as a court reporter,  educator and leader of alternative sentencing programs. In 2016, she  began serving as the Co-chair of the Mississippi River Cities and Towns  Initiative (MRCTI) – a group of more than 80 mayors along all 10 states  of the Mississippi River’s main stem.

An attorney and realtor by  trade, Kerner was elected Mayor of the Town of Jean Lafitte in July 2020  and also serves as President of the Lafitte Area Independent Levee  District. Before becoming Mayor, Tim worked as a prosecutor for the 24th  Judicial District and worked as a staffer in the Jefferson Parish  President’s Office.

Conley was inaugurated as Kenner’s Chief of  Police on July 1, 2022 and served as a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Deputy  from 1982-2003 as part of the Special Investigations, Vice Squad and  Narcotics Divisions. He rose to Seargeant during his 21-year career with  the Jefferson Parish Sherriff’s Office. Most recently, Conley served as  Chief Operating Officer for Jefferson Parish from 2016-19 before he was  elected as Councilman-At-Large Division A for Jefferson Parish where he  served until 2020.
