JEFFERSON, LA – With Hurricane Ida debris removal efforts moving into their final stages in the Lafitte and Barataria areas, Jefferson Parish is asking residents to move any remaining Ida debris curbside to the public right-of-way by May 31, 2022. Debris removal crews will continue to collect debris through that deadline.
For Hurricane Ida related mud removal from private property in the Lafitte and Barataria area, the deadline for applications will also be May 31, 2022. The mud removal project is managed by Thompson Consultants, a contractor for Jefferson Parish. Residents interested in applying for the program should contact, 1-888-699-1002. Property owners will be required to complete an application and sign a Right-of-Entry (ROE) which grants access to the property for inspection, removal and clearing eligible storm-generated mud, and releases Jefferson Parish and contractors from liability due to any damages incurred from work done during the program.
