40.7% unemployed in Harvey in 2017

40.7 percent of Harvey residents between 16 and 65 years old were unemployed in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The percentage of unemployed residents was greater than the statewide total of 40 percent for this demographic group. In 2017 the total Harvey population reached 16,463.

Out of 9,763 people who had a job, 47 were employed in the Armed Forces and 9,716 belonged to the civilian labor force.

The total unemployment numbers include residents of all ages who are not working.
