There were 3,819 students enrolled in Plaquemines Parish School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 53.8% of them were boys, and 46.2% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 52.7% of the Plaquemines Parish School District total enrollment.

Plaquemines Parish School District covers approximately eight schools within Plaquemines Parish, with its main office in Belle Chasse.

Among the eight schools in Plaquemines Parish School District, Belle Chasse High School recorded the highest enrollment of 912 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021-22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
